Excellent find, Libra. In my hoary head I am thinking of Plato's condemnation of poets. He wanted us excluded from his ideal Republic as liars and pernicious influences. Social parasites I suppose. In capitalist societies, at best, we are the kept mistress and paid well as writer in residence at some college. At worst, most dismissive, we are hobbyists. It is how it is.

But, at their best, poets know otherwise. Shelley said it. Poets are the world's moral legislators. Nobody has yet convinced me otherwise.
