Re: trip to rajasthan - link
well what do you know - it's working!
the first picture is me - with the hat - behind me as all good husband's should be is Ajay.
next picture i'm on left - the taller girl / the taller couple everywhere are friends.
you'll recognize me mostly everywhere with my big brown hat & scarves - head is covered due to heat - not any other reason.
somewhere in the middle - a bright scarlet scarf
but please notice me in my pink skirt & bright blue flowing scarf - behind me a vase of pink lilies - the only time i dressed up as we we're meeting royalty - the ownner of the sumptuous castle.
these are all various forts & palaces in rajasthan.
hope you guys enjoy the pictures!

Re: trip to rajasthan - link
What a treat to spend a Sunday morning going through your travelogue! Took the slideshow tour, photo by photo. Then clicked on Wikipedia for information about Rajasthan. India's largest state. Situated between the Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, and one of the world's oldest mountain ranges, the Aravalii. Inhabitants pastoral, decidedly warlike. And India's oldest archaeological site, even before the Indus Valley Civ. What a contrast in extreme beauties the desert and green mountains must make for. Is that Jaipur? Must be. Did you visit the ruins of Kalibanga? I see you must have visited one of the two tiger reserves. Your husband is a mighty handsome man. Proud looking too. And, as we say in the Deep South, you're easy on the eyes. I notice that when you smile it is not a big smile, more a grin. that is how I compose myself for a camera too. No need to give too much away right? Once when a woman was taking my picture she said: Come on. Smile for the camera. I said: But I am smiling.
Wiki says there is an annual arts festival called the Desert Arts Festival. I notice your husband is wearing a shirt advertising the event. Is that why you were there? A fun tour. Thank you.

Re: trip to rajasthan - link
hi guys
glad you enjoyed the pictures! great fun for me to send! now that i'm getting a hang of it & let me learn some more - about making albums etc. i've got some truly amazing pictures of my trip to Ladakh & Angkor Wat etc. Ladakh is high up in the himalayas & we'd gone to the Khardongla Pass - the highest motorable road in the world! pretty amazing!
Tere - now you know more about Rajasthan than me - Kalibanga! no we hadn't gone towards that area. Yes Jaipur of course - the first few pictures are Jaipur - Ranthambhore - tiger country - then lot's of small villages with huge forts - major cites: Jaipur / Udaipur / Jodhpur / Jaisalmer - the last where the camels & sand-dunes are.
thanks for the compliments! Ajay will be mighty pleased! his name means the unconquerable one! but he's never won from me!
Rajasthan is full of festivals - but this particular T-shirt is of the Desert Kite Festival which Ajay organized - an international festival where we invited kite flyers - with all their huge kites to come & fly in the desert - we did it for many years & it was a huge success - then Ajay got busy with his other travel work.
Jaipur holds a huge literary festival - where writers from all all over the world are invited. this one is a massive success & i'm sure you'll get lots of info on the net.
