So I've been testing this site. I'm impressed. I mean who now remembers Djuna Barnes?

I don't paint things. I only paint the difference between things.

Your Matisse reminds me of something Degas is supposed to have said. He was asked by an American journalist his opinion of his contemporaries. Degas angrily replied: The muses do not sing together. And when they dance they dance alone.

I frankly agree.

Re: Cool site for the bon mot

I came across this Nietzsche quote. I've been hesitant to share it here, thinking it might offend the women in the party. But I tried it out on a couple of women friends and co-workers, both no-nonsense women who would have immediately hit me upside the head had they been offended. One cackled, the other said in a drawn out way AAAAAAAAAAAAHMEEEEEENNNN.

So Nietzsche said this:

"Ah, women. They make the highs higher. And the lows more frequent."

ta ta dum.
