Robert Frank's America

This is the best site I can find on Frank's '59 book of photographs that so changed the scene. I think of him as a kind of link between Walker Evans and the likes of Diane Arbus. Evans actually encouraged him. Frank was a Swiss emigre. His '59 book was harshly criticized as un-American, but taken up by the Beat poets as genuine. Kerouac wrote the book's intro. Look at what the man did. So much love. So much intuition. In my mind he is up there with Evans.
