A swallow tornado
The video was taken some miles south of me in a suburb of New Orleans called Vacherie. The behavior is protective, performed both at dusk when settling down into a field and again at dawn when rising into the air. The video captures tens of millions of swallows easily. Just another example of Gaia's intelligence.
