The Poetics List for Avant-Garde Writing

"The Poetics List

Sponsored by: The Electronic Poetry Center (SUNY-Buffalo/University of Pennsylvania) and the Regan Chair (Department of English, Penn) & Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing (Penn)

. . .

Our aim is to support, inform, and extend those directions in poetry that are committed to innovations, renovations, and investigations of form and/or/as content, to the questioning of received forms and styles, and to the creation of the otherwise unimagined, untried, unexpected, improbable, and impossible. While we recognize that other lists may sponsor other possibilities for exchange, we request that those participating in this forum keep in mind the specialized and focused nature of this project and respect our decision to operate a moderated list. The Poetics List exists to support and encourage divergent points of view on innovative forms of modern and contemporary poetry and poetics, and we are committed to doing what is necessary to preserve this space for such dialog."

Hi, Tere,

Who is that? Do you have any reservations?

Auto, I have no reservations. The mention was made in the spirit of orientation, which, as I bet you know, is important when submitting material for pub. As best as I know the folks are involved in Lang Po's approach to poetry. Neither a good or bad thing. Just a thing.

I actually thought of you and Steve Parker when I saw the link Kat gave. Both of you I figure could bring something to their table, something fun and playful. Maybe ChrisD too and Kat and Culdesac. That's all.

Hi, Tere,

I'm so ignorant of langpo I probably wouldn't be allowed in. Though they do say "divergent". I see now -- this be the House o' Academe. May be I'll knock though, jest in case they want to jest.

Thanks,

Auto

Hi Auto and Tere,

I don't think the Poetics List is limited to discussions on langpo but is open to discussions on all kinds of experimental/avant-garde writing. If someone is interested in Bernstein specifically though, you can find a link to his blog and other EPC selections here:
